Dr. Thitu Kibata, Executive Director of City Eye Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, will introduce her hospital and share its journey, mission and vision for the future. City Eye Hospital is dedicated to providing accessible, affordable and high-quality eye care. With a strong focus on patient-centred services, specialist ophthalmic care and community outreach, the hospital strives to improve eye health and prevent avoidable blindness in Kenya. In this introductory presentation, Dr. Kibata will provide an overview of the hospital’s development, its services and its approach to delivering eye care in the Kenyan healthcare environment. She will also share some of the opportunities and challenges faced by eye hospitals in the region. As a first-time participant in the WAEH Annual Meeting, Dr. Kibata looks forward to connecting with fellow eye hospital leaders, exchanging experiences and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.
