World Diabetes Day 2022 (WDD’22)

World Diabetes Day (WDD) is an International Day of Awareness, held annually on the 14th November to focus attention on the global issue of Diabetes. 

This year Global theme has been selected ‘Access to diabetes education’ for WDD 2022. The theme focuses on intensive diabetes education for healthcare professionals and diabetes patients. Dr. K. Zaman BNSB Eye Hospital to celebrates the successes of the global efforts to prevent blindness and draws attention to the challenges ahead in this great moment of WDD’22. 

To mark this glorious moment Dr. K. Zaman BNSB Eye Hospital organized a program on November 14,2022 which Programme includes Free Diabetic Retinopathy Screening, Rally, Bi-Cycle Rally to create social awareness to encourage the social participation in blindness prevention. 

The objectives of the bicycle rally were to create awareness on Diabetes and Eye Health Care. Approximately they reached 50,000 community people. During the visit they distributed different flyers and brochures on Diabetes and eye health care. The bicycle rally travelled 40 Km. 30 volunteers where 50% were women participated in the said rally. 

A free Diabetic Retinopathy Screening camp was organized followed by a grand colorful rally. The rally passed through the main city of Mymensingh School children, representative from civil society, different govt. official and representatives from different NGOs were present in the said rally.
