Amazonias Trip

Explore the Amazon before the 20th Annual Meeting begins by joining a special pre-meeting trip organized by our host, Instituto Suel Abujamra!

This excursion offers participants the opportunity to experience the unique nature and culture of the Amazon region ahead of the official program. More information about the itinerary and registration can be found below.

Itinerary

• Day 1

  Thursday 5 November 2026

  18:00 pm – Flight to Manaus.
  11:30 pm – Arrival at Hotel and check-in.

• Day 2

  Friday 6 November 2026

  07:00 am – Pick up from hotel in Manaus, transfers to the lodge.
  11:30 am – Arrival at Amazon Tupana Lodge. Welcome drink and check-in.
  12:30 pm – Lunch.
  15:00 pm – Departure in a motorized canoe for reconnaissance of the region.
  19:30 pm – Dinner.
  After dinner – Motorized canoe tour for observing nocturnal animals,
  not forgetting that the main attraction is alligator spotting.

• Day 3

  Saturday 7 November 2026

  07:30 am – Breakfast.
  09:00 am – Departure for a jungle hike.
  12:30 pm – Lunch.
  15:00 pm – Motorized canoe tour for piranha fishing followed by sunset viewing.
  19:30 pm – Dinner.

• Day 4

  Sunday 8 November 2026

  05:30 am – Canoe trip for sunrise observation, bird watching, and pink river dolphin watching.
  07:30 am – Breakfast.
  09:00 am – Departure by motorized canoe to visit the home of native people, where we can learn a
  little about their culture and customs.
  12:30 pm – Lunch.
  13:30 pm – Check out and departure for Manaus, with an estimated arrival time of 17:00 pm.

• Day 5

  Monday 9 November 2026

  14:00 pm – Flight to São Paulo.
  18:30 pm – Arrival at Hotel and check-in.
