Happy World Sight Day 2022 @ Bangladesh

World Sight Day (WSD) is an International Day of Awareness, held annually on the second Thursday of October to focus attention on the global issue of avoidable blindness and visual impairment. 

This year Global theme has been selected “Love Yours Eyes” for WSD 2022. Dr. K. Zaman BNSB Eye Hospital to celebrates the successes of the global efforts to prevent blindness and draws attention to the challenges ahead in this great moment of WSD’22. 

To mark this glorious moment Dr. K. Zaman BNSB Eye Hospital organized a programs from October 10 to 13, 2022 which include Bicycle rally, Free Eye Screening Camp, Rally, discussion meeting , Opening a Vision Centre . Celebration was started on October 10, 2022 through a by bicycle rally programme. 

The objectives of the bicycle rally were to create awareness on Eye Health Care. Uptake service from the Vision Centre, Information dissemination about the newly established Vision Centre at Nandina, Jamalpur. And to mark the World Sight Day 2022.The rally has covered more community people particularly villagers and student. They visited 17 schools and 20 community village markets. Approximately rally reached 100,000 community people. During the visit they distributed different flyers and brochures. The bicycle rally travelled 112 Km. 24 volunteers of Dr. K. Zaman BNSB Eye Hospital participated in the said rally. 

On October 13, 2022 a free eye screening camp was organized followed by a grand colorful rally “Drishti Padajatra(Walk for Sight) at Mymensingh and 12 Vision Centres . The rally passed through the main city of Mymensingh and Netrakona. School children, representative from civil society, different govt. official and representatives from different NGOs were present in the said rally. After the rally a stakeholders gathering were held followed by a discussion meeting at the Vision Centre Sherpur. 

Please note that we have screened and examined 37219 eye patients from September 13 to October 13, 2022 . 

Dr. K. Zaman BNSB Eye Hospital has brought out different promotional materials in connection to WSD ’22, such as brochure, flyers, T-shirts, etc.
