The Community of Practice – Finances focuses on the key elements of achieving and maintaining financial health in eye care facilities. Experts will discuss best practices ranging from day-to-day financial management to long-term strategic planning.

This group is led by Mee Chee (Macy) Thong, Chief Financial Officer at Singapore National Eye Centre (Singapore).

Mee Chee (Macy) Thong will start off the Community of Practice with a presentation about the financial organization of the Singapore National Eye Center. Subsequently, Jessica Dollé, Chief Financial Officer of the Hôpital national des 15-20, and Urs Winkler, Chief Financial Officer at the Fondation Asile des aveugles – the Hôpital ophtalmique Jules-Gonin, will join her to discuss value-based care transformation: the transition from volume-driven healthcare delivery to outcome-driven healthcare that improves patient health, experience, and cost efficiency.

Moreover, Els Steijger, Head of Marketing and Health Care Procurement at Rotterdam Eye Hospital (the Netherlands) and Mireille Wolleswinkel, CEO of the Rotterdam Eye Hospital (the Netherlands), will discuss that they have commissioned a cost-benefit analysis for their hospital.
