Recommendation from Thulsi Ravilla from the Aravind Eye Care System regarding the above two eye hospitals:

About the two hospitals – LVPEI from Hyderabad, India & Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital from Pakistan – Thulsi Ravilla would recommend them without any hesitation. Both are fine institutions, very committed to eye care and making sure that it reaches those in need of it. Both institutions have strong community orientation in providing care and systems to math it.

Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi, Pakistan: It is one of the leading hospitals in Pakistan. Thulsi has personally visited at the invitation of its founder Lt Gen (late) Jahandad Khan and interacted with him. This was several years ago. While he hasn’t been in touch lately, he is sure that they continue to be a fine institution. The fact that they want to be part of WAEH, is a testimony to that.

LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India: Thulsi knows this institution very well. They are well-known for patient care, academics and research. One of the finest institutions. The Aravind Eye Care System is constantly engaged with them.
