WAEH | Innovations Overview

While Covid-19 is challenging all of our eyehospitals all over the world – it also seems to have brought rapid implementation of virtual clinics / drive through OPD’s and many more innovations. Like Declan Flanagan from Moorfields said during one of our previous WAEH webinars: “We have been able to implement new innovations in just 5 weeks’ time, previously that would have cost us 5 years’ time”. As the idea of the WAEH is to learn and share ideas between eyehospitals worldwide, it would be great to share all of your innovations to our complete network.

Thinking about innovation in your hospital: What kind of innovations has COVID-19 brought you?

Think about:

  • Asking parents to make selfies of their kids’ eyes and to share these one day before the virtual appointment with the ophthalmologist
  • Drive through OPD
  • Quickly setting up virtual clinics with Video consultations  / Telemedicine
  • Diagnostic barns
  • And more covid-related:
    • Making facemasks
    • Slitlamp covering
    • Rapid testing: in 2 hours time? Less? Or more?

Please share your innovations via this very short questionnaire
